The History
The Water’s Edge Lighthouse is the oldest existing building in Glenville, NY as its history dates back to the 1700s. The house showed elements of unique Georgian, Federalist and Greek revivalist architecture. Due to this, it was assumed that the house was built during a transitional time period in the region. It was registered in the State Historic Sites Survey and was nominated for the National Register of Historical Places.

How to Get to the Water’s Edge Lighthouse
Make sure to use the GPS to find this spot, as it might be considered hidden to some. Continue onto the NYS Thruway until reaching Exit 25. Then, take I-890 West to Erie Blvd toward GE Plant (Exit 4b). Continue by taking Erie Blvd 2.4 miles to Freemans Boat Bridge Launch in East Glenville. Then use the left two lanes to turn slightly left for 0.4 miles. Keep left to continue towards Erie Blvd and continue straight at the traffic circle to stay on Erie Blvd for 0.6miles. In 0.2 miles, continue onto Freemans Bridge Rd and in 217 feet turn right onto Freemans Boat Bridge Launch to arrive at the Water’s Edge Lighthouse.
