About the Hotel
According to historians, the Queensbury Hotel’s name derives from the British Queen Charlotte. The piece of land that is currently Glens Falls was granted in 1762. The hotel’s name has an elegant appeal to honor that grant. Having been a standout in Glens Falls, New York for nearly 100 years, the Queensbury Hotel has made its mark. Dating back to 1916, local businessmen and city officials decided a hotel should be built to welcome tourists to the Adirondack area and to serve as a focal point in the community. Years later in 1924, a representative of 100 businessmen voted unanimously to organize the Glens Falls Hotel Corporation and build a $600,000 hotel. Over the years, the Queensbury has only continued to restore and expand, with more guest rooms and meeting facilities to accommodate the demand of business in the Adirondack region. Even just in 2022, the Adirondack Ballroom was expanded.
