The Depot Theater was constructed in 1978 at the site of the historic Westport train station in an effort to save it. The tradition of actors performing inside the train depot stands today, as the Depot Theatre invites all to “Take a journey without leaving the train station.” Previous shows have included Guys and Dolls, Barefoot in the Park, a Midsummer Nights Dream, and the Glass Menagerie. The Depot Theatre is a nonprofit organization and is continuously dedicated to preserving history through the arts. The Depot Theatre also offers a youth theatre program, which features shows like The Lion King Jr. and Little Shop of Horrors. Interested individuals can use the Depot Theatre website to donate, volunteer, purchase season tickets, and view the upcoming shows and performing groups.
