The Tatu Tacos and Tequila Restaurant

Located in Saratoga Springs, this restaurant is a great addition to the lively downtown area of the city. While it just recently opened, this foodie hotspot has already become a must-visit when dining in the Saratoga area. Along with the variety of delicious tacos and menu items served, be sure to try the tequila and mezcal offered. Owners Kareem NeJame and Jennyfur Spaulding had the concept of creating a restaurant with a Mayan-influenced menu. They named the location “Tatu” as it is derived from the Spanish tatuaje, which means tattoo. The restaurant’s decor is heavily influenced by vintage tattoo parlors with floor-to-ceiling original art, mostly done by Jennyfur.
Mayan’s were the one of the first cultures to tattoo their skin in order to record and tell stories. Inspired by this, the restaurant features artwork from local tattoo artists, including the owners’ personal tattoo artist, Rob Hotte. By displaying their work, NeJame and Spaulding are demonstrating the brilliant art that tattoo artists create.
