Samuel’s is owned by actors Paul Rudd and Jeffrey Dean Morgan, as well as actress, Hilarie Burton. This candy store is not only widely popular because of its celebrity owners, but because of how delicious all of its treats are.
According to their website, Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Hilarie Burton moved to Rhinebeck and took an interest in Samuel’s of Rhinebeck. Once the couple discovered that Samuel’s was at risk of closing, they saved the shop. The married couple then joined Paul Rudd and his wife, Julie, in transforming Samuel’s into Samuel’s Sweet Shop. Today, the shop continues to be a popular attraction in Rhinebeck, drawing in tourists and residents alike.
The candy store sells a multitude of sweets, ranging from chocolate to baked goods. Samuel’s has plenty of original options, but also sells sweets from local businesses, as well as classic options. If you’re looking to try a bit of everything, or interested in the owners’ preferences, Samuel’s sells sample packages based on the type of sweets. You can find samplers of Paul, Jeffrey and Hillarie’s favorite sweets.
