Riverlink Park has plenty to offer both on land and on the Mohawk River.
With numerous walking trails, a playground, boat dock and multiple events put on for the community over the summer, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
The dock offers amenities to boaters exploring the Mohawk River such as fresh water, electricity, showers, bathrooms and laundry services. Docking prices start at $1 per day, making them extremely affordable.
There are several trails for either walking or biking that run through the park. The trails provide visitors with access to Mohawk Valley Gateway Overlook Bridge (MVGO), which stretches over 500 feet from the North bank of the river to the South bank. Located on the bridge are various sculptures, engravings and other things to look at that tell the story of living in Amsterdam.
The trails also take guests to Amsterdam’s 9/11 Memorial. The memorial holds on to one the biggest remnants of the World Trade Center.
Dan’s Backyard Barbeque also resides at Riverlink Park. It is a low-key restaurant that provides good food, and also maximizes space for events with the big tent located in the park. They host concerts separate from the park’s scheduled events like comedy shows and paint nights.
The party tent in the park can also be rented to host events. Catering options are available as well to accommodate for functions.
Riverlink Park uses its summer season to create the most memories for families. The park hosts a concert series, countless festivals, movie nights and fireworks shows. The city of Amsterdam regularly updates their website and Facebook page to keep both visitors and residents up to date on events happening at the park.
The musical acts for the concerts range in genre, from jazz to classical to folk music. Each act is different and allows guests to familiarize themselves with music that they might not have known before.
