What is Revolution Rail Co.?

Revolution Rail Co. functions with the mission of transforming historic railways into scenic railbikiing pathways. A railbike brings you close to nature in a way you’ve never experienced.

These scenic rides are perfect for anyone. You don’t need any prior experience. You’ll travel along rivers and creeks, take in the mountain views, ride through the forest and seethe wildlife, and take in the Adirondacks like never before.

Rides at Revolution Rail Co.

There are three locations in New York:

North Creek at the site of the old Saratoga-North Creek Railway and 30 minutes from Lake George
- The North Bridge Run is 7 miles through the Adirondack forest and over the Hudson River.
- The South River Run is an 8 mile trip following the Hudson River. Check out views of Gore Mountain, wildlife, and even a beaver meadow, a great spot for birding.
Hadley Station, 20 minutes from Saratoga Springs
- This is a 7 mile roundtrip that is mostly flat. You’ll cross a 500-foot long and 90′ high bridge crossing over the confluence of the Hudson and Sacandaga Rivers. Then you’ll head into the forest and see some critters and continue the rest of your trip.
Thurman Station is a quick 15 minutes from Lake George
- Thurman Station Run is 8 miles roundtrip in the shadows of Hickory Mountain along the Hudson River and into the Adirondack Valley.

There are also a variety of specialty or seasonal tours offered at each station. Check out their Haunted Tours for Halloween, their Rails to Sails railbiking and tubing excursion or their twilight tours to experience railbiking under the stars.

How to book a ride with Revolution Rail Co.

Railbike costs can vary depending on what tour you book but most basic rides are $90 for a double railbike or $160 for a quad railbike.
