Pond Hill Ranch & Pro Rodeo is a family-owned and operated ranch in the beautiful Green Mountains of Vermont. This 2000 acre working ranch offers fun for the whole family including rodeos, barrel racing, trail riding, and horse shows.
Events
After canceling the 2020 rodeo season due to the pandemic, Pond Hill Ranch & Pro Rodeo is back and is now entering its 50th year of producing rodeos. Each Saturday from July 3 to September 4 at 7:30 p.m, families will have the chance to enjoy the rodeo with events including Bareback Bronc Riding, Bull Riding, Team Roping, Girls Barrel Racing, Girls Break Away Roping and more.
On July 23 at 6 p.m. and on September 19 and October 3 at 10 a.m., the ranch will be hosting open Gymkhana events free of charge. These events will include five “games on horseback” for the entire family to enjoy.
Visitors can attend Horse Shows at the ranch and in the surrounding area as well. Dates at Pond Hill Ranch include June 13, July 11, August 1 and August 8 from 12 p.m. until 3 p.m. These events are free of charge.
The ranch also offers barrel races often benefitting the Make a Wish Foundation. Dates are yet to be announced for this year’s events.
Trail Rides and Lessons
In addition to these events, Pond Hill Ranch & Pro Rodeo also offers trail rides and lessons seven days a week by appointment only.
Trail rides allow visitors to take in the breathtaking views of the mountains and surrounding landscape and enjoy the serenity and calm of nature. Rides last about an hour. Those 8 years old and up can partake in the trail rides, and those younger can enjoy Pony rides.
Lessons from an experienced rider are offered in individual and group settings and can focus on English or Western style riding. All levels of experience are welcome.
