MVP Arena: Albany’s Premiere Sports and Entertainment Facility
MVP Arena is Albany’s multipurpose facility housing up to 17,500 guests, Since 1990 when the arena opened it has welcomed more than eighteen million patrons. Throughout the year, MVP Arena hosts a variety of shows from sporting events to concerts to family shows.
Iconic performers have graced the stages of MVP Arena including, Frank Sinatra- the arena’s first artist to perform and christen the building – Fleetwood Mac, Celine Dion, and Justin Timberlake. Sports phenomena like the Harlem Globetrotters have lit up the basketball court. Over the years, families have enjoyed performances like Disney on Ice, Sesame Street Live, and Monster Jam.
Today, MVP Arena is home to the Siena Saints Men’s Basketball Team as well as the Albany FireWolves of the National Lacross League. It has also seen the NYSPHSAA State Wrestling Championship, Mayor’s Cup Ice Hockey, pre-season WNBA games, and CrossFit regional competitions.
Upcoming Events at MVP Arena
Throughout the year there is always something going on at the Arena.
Every Sunday from July 14 to September 29, 2024, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, there will be the Albany County Farmers Market. This open-air market series will provide the Albany community with fresh, local goods from fresh produce to artisanal goods from local farmers and producers. There will also be live entertainment, family activities, nutritional programs, and opportunities to support local nonprofit organizations.
This year enjoy artists like Stevie Nicks, Heart, Megadeath, Jelly Roll, and TobyMac. Also catch comedian Sebastian Maniscalco, the Ringling Bros. Circus, the Albany Auto Show, and more!
FAQs
- Only clear plastic, or vinyl, bags no larger than 12″ x 6″ x 12″ will be allowed inside the arena. Small clutches are allowed in and do not have to be clear. Any bags larger than the above size are prohibited.
- Concessions at the arena do not accept cash. Only cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay are accepted.
- Outside food and beverages are prohibited
- Professional cameras, video and audio recorders like GoPros are prohibited
- Selfie sticks are prohibited
- All guests are encouraged to utilize mobile tickets downloaded to their digital wallet for quicker access and to avoid Wi-Fi-related issues.
