Are you looking for a place to escape your fast-paced and stressful days and experience a peaceful and quiet getaway? A place where you can have a locally sourced breakfast delivered to your cabin, a selection of relaxing or adventurous activities at your fingertips, live music under the stars and a beautiful Hudson River view to boot? If you answered yes, then Hutton Brickyards is for you!
Hutton Brickyards is a secluded 73-acre retreat located in historic Kingston, New York. Guests can choose from a variety of luxury cabins that connect them to nature but seamlessly include modern features such as personal in-room service tablets, and a “thirsty flag” to put outside the cabin to request cocktails.
From the moment guests arrive they are made to feel at home, starting with a tour of the grounds. There are a variety of places to relax and take in the views, such as by fire pits surrounded by Adirondack chairs. There is also the River Pavilion, an open-air restaurant on-site featuring wood-fired ovens and fireplaces as well as dishes with locally sourced ingredients. Hutton Brickyards’ Salt Spa is also on the property, offering a variety of massages, facials and dry brushing. As of 2021, the spa also offers wooden barrel saunas, complete with glass panes offering Hudson River views.
History of Hutton Brickyards
Guests will also learn about the unique history of the property, which was home to the Hutton Brick Works Company from 1865 until 1980. As a part of the larger brick manufacturing industry in the Hudson Valley, which employed thousands in the region and fueled construction and growth, Hutton supplied bricks to build Yankee Stadium, the Empire State Building and more. On the grounds, there are still elements that reveal the history and legacy of the facility, including three steel-frame kiln sheds and a Lidgerwood crane.
Activities at Hutton Brickyards
Hutton Brickyards also hosts a variety of activities for its guests, including morning yoga, hikes, archery, croquet, and more. There are also chances to get out on the water through paddle-boarding and kayak tours. The retreat hosts larger events as well, such as weddings, corporate retreats, concerts and festivals. In addition, each Tuesday from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m., Hutton Brickyards hosts Hutton Hangout at the restaurant, offering a relaxing opportunity to enjoy music, food and cocktails with great company! This event does not require a reservation.
Whether you are looking for a laid-back spa retreat, an action-packed yet secluded getaway or a venue for a picture-perfect wedding, Hutton Brickyards is the perfect spot for you!
