Hudson Park & Beach
Hudson Park & Beach is a 10-acre outdoor space that brings visitors back to reality and back to the natural state of their community. When visiting the park, guests can engage with nature directly or sit down and enjoy their environment. The park has plenty of different activities for all ages, including community events all year.
Facilities
Hudson Park and Beach offer guests the use of a recreation area, children’s playground, seating area, and two beaches. The park has a music bandshell which it uses throughout the year for various concerts. There is also a gazebo on-premises, surrounded by a multitude of walking trails. This park offers recently renovated restrooms situated in a bathhouse from the 1930s. On parkland is also a children’s greenhouse, which functions as an educational center for the community. To enhance the feel of the park, a mini-library was created with free books where visitors can take a book and leave one.
Activities
In addition to concerts, the park offers a view of the Long Island Sound. Visitors can look out over the sound and watch yachts and sailboats sail by, both in the distance and close by. Throughout the park are various trees and rocks to climb on, providing endless entertainment for children. Due to its natural scenery and panoramic views, this park lends itself to being an ideal photography spot. Guests are able to fish off of the pier or on the beach. Organized events at the Hudson Park and Beach include the Lighted Boat Parade and the Snapper Fishing Derby. Holidays are also celebrated at the park with scheduled events, such as July 4th Fireworks.
Access
Hudson Park Beach offers parking to New Rochelle residents only, by parking fee or with the city passport. Parking fees are in place from Memorial Day through Columbus Day. Anyone is welcome into the park and the beaches are free to access.
