Grazery
Grazery, located in downtown New Paltz, is New York’s premiere artisan cheese shop. The shop opened its door in August 2019 and since then has become a hot spot for both tourists and locals. The shop offers a wide variety of products including sandwiches, salads, cheeses, plants and more. Grazery is one of the newest editions to Water Street Market, a charming European shopping village located in New Paltz that is dedicated to celebrating small businesses. Since its opening, Grazery’s carefully curated menu and farm fresh products have intrigued the New Paltz community and become a new staple of the Water Street Market experience.
About The Owners
The Grazery is owned by Gardiner residents Melissa and Greg Gagne, who both have a background in the restaurant industry. The owners spoke with the SUNY New Paltz’s newspaper The Oracle in September 2019 about opening their new business in town. Greg and Melissa told The Oracle that they weren’t necessarily looking to purchase a cheese shop, but they did want to have a shop that included all of the products they love. The Grazery is more than just a cheese shop. It also sells plants, home decor, and more. The business duo have satisfied a niche that the New Paltz community was craving. Greg and Melissa talked to The Oracle about the future of the shop stating, “we’ve also been expanding on the cheeses constantly. We’re really working on a domestic kind of focus, small batch forms, but there’s still European and fun stuff.”
Business Hours
Grazery is open 6 days a week. Store hours are typically 11 A.M to 6 P.M, except for Monday when it is open from 12 P.M to 4 P.M. The store is closed on Tuesdays. You can order food ahead of time online by visiting their website.
