On Main Street in the town of Leeds, among the Catskill mountains, is Gracie’s Luncheonette. Gracie’s is the perfect place to enjoy classic comfort foods made from scratch. The owners, Ally and Andrew, are Culinary Institute of America graduates who take pride in creating recipes for feel-good classics that will make their customers feel right at home. After having success first with a food truck, the two opened the luncheonette in 2014, earning much attention from locals and visitors alike, many traveling with Gracie’s as their prime destination!
What attracts customers to Gracie’s and keeps them returning time and time again? For some, it’s the house-made sodas, fresh-squeezed lemonade or cocktails featuring house-made ingredients. For others, it’s the locally sourced and juicy burgers and hand-cut fries or the homemade bread, donuts and delicious desserts. Can’t decide between a glazed donut and a burger? Gracie’s has an option that takes away a hard decision with the Donut Burger. There is something for everyone’s tastebuds at Gracie’s; they also offer breakfast all day, delicious sandwiches, a variety of mac and cheese, and milkshakes and floats with house-made ice cream. An interesting fact about Gracie’s is that when developing the menu, Ally and Andrew were in part inspired by Koch’s Drive-In, which operated where Gracie’s is now! Check out the full menu on the website here.
In addition to the delicious food and drinks offered at Gracie’s, customers enjoy a great view out the windows of Catskill Creek and the surrounding mountains. If you’re looking for other ways to enjoy the natural beauty of the area before or after grabbing a bite to eat, head over to Thomas Cole National Historic Site or Olana State Historic Site just across the river. These sites celebrate the landscape artwork from the Hudson River School and have beautiful views of their own.
Be sure to check out Gracie’s Luncheonette, open Thursday to Monday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. for a delicious meal you won’t forget!
“This place is worth a trip just for the food. Delicious, healthy, home cooking. And I’m not usually a soda person but Gracie’s is the exception – delicious homemade sodas! Try the lemon/lime, its super yummy and not too sweet!”
