Beardslee Castle is a modern restaurant with a flair of old history.
Located in Little Falls, New York, the castle was constructed in 1860 by Augustus Beardslee. Beardslee was a successful lawyer in New York. So successful that Beardslee was selected by President Abraham Lincoln to attend conferences in Virginia to try to delay the Civil War.
The building has three floors and is full of artifacts and treasures from when Beardslee resided in it. He passed away in 1873. After his death, the castle was handed over to his children.
In 1994, Beardslee Castle opened up as a restaurant. The chefs pay very close attention to detail with their menu, using items that are local, in season and fresh. They rotate menu items weekly to account for this. They have dishes for everyone, including vegetarian dishes.
Their menu is mostly made up of American cuisine with Mediterranean and Asian influences.
In addition to the five main dining rooms on the first floor of the castle, they have a bar and smaller dining room in the dungeon of the castle.
The Dungeon has a wine room, over 100 beers to choose from, pool tables and a bar to relax at and enjoy your evening.
Beardslee Castle also hosts weddings! They have two wedding coordinators who have over 25 years of experience in the field and ensure that the weddings are as spectacular as they can be.
The dining rooms at Beardslee Castle are open Friday and Saturday, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday from 4 p.m until 8 p.m.
“This place is beautiful; the grounds are well done. The interior is very authentic of the period. More importantly, the food and service is outstanding.”
