Fun for the Whole Family
The Sheep and Wool Festival is a two-day festival in Rhinebeck, NY. This year marks the 41st year it will be held at the Dutchess County Fairgrounds. Multiple Vendors will be on-site, along with sheep herding demonstrations, a petting zoo and fiber arts! There is a little something for everyone. On top of these in-person activities, the workshops usually held in person will be online, which you can register for on their website. Souvenirs can only be purchased online to be shipped to your home. Some vendors will be selling their merchandise online. The event will be held on October 16th and 17th all day.
Admission
The festival is open to the public with a $12 admission fee for each day you go. Parking at the event is free and plentiful. Food and drink vendors will be on-site, alongside other festival vendors.
Getting Involved
The festival is family-oriented with a variety of activities to enjoy. One popular attraction at the festival is the petting zoo. This year, the festival’s workshops are being held virtually on Thursday and Friday before the festival. The registration price of the workshops varies based on craft. To register, go to the event’s website and see the different workshops they have to offer. There are also competitions throughout the weekend to compete in. From art competitions to fleece to shawl competitions, there is plenty to do to get involved.
