Experience the magic of the holidays with a classic Christmas tale come to life! Set to the sounds of the movie, you’ll be immersed into the story as you travel to the North Pole and head to meet Santa!
What to expect on the Medina Railroad Polar Express
This one-hour trip is a magical experience to meet Santa. The conductor will come around and punch everyone’s golden tickets and then you’re off! Cookies and hot chocolate will be served by chefs while The Polar Express by Chris Van Allsburg is read aloud.
Throughout the cars, fun characters will be keeping passengers entertained until arrival at the North Pole. Santa will then climb aboard and join in on the ride back to the Medina Railroad Museum. Each child will be given a silver sleigh bell – the first gift of Christmas.
On site at the museum will be food vendors with plenty of meal options, snacks and beverages.
Tickets for the Catskill Mountain Railroad Polar Express
Tickets for the Medina Polar Express are available for purchase online and must be purchased in advance. All tickets include your ride on the Polar Express as well as entrance to the museum.
First Class Seating is available at $220 for a table of 4 seats. Everyone needs their own seat, besides children under 1 year old who may ride for free on a lap. First Class passengers will receive a ceramic Polar Express souvenir mug, hot chocolate with whipped cream and a cookie. Additionally, tables will receive one polar express tote bag.
Coach Seating is $40.00 per person and is classic train car style seating. Everyone needs a seat besides children under 1 who may ride for free on a lap. Coach passengers will still receive hot chocolate and a cookie.

When does the Medina Railroad Polar Express run?
The Medina Railroad Polar Express happens on weekends in late November through the end of December. Rides are available from November 30th – December 22nd.
When does the Medina Railroad Polar Express depart?
The Polar Express leaves 6 times every Saturday and Sundays. Polar Express rides depart at 11:20 am, 12:40 pm, 2:00 pm, 3:20 pm, 4:40 pm and 6:00 pm.
Trains depart on time without exceptions so guests must arrive 1 hour prior to your scheduled departure time. Boarding will begin 20 minutes before departure.
