    What is Earth Day Union Square?

    Every year, The Earth Day Initiative puts on an in-person, free festival to celebrate Earth Day. This important day serves as a reminder of the need for action to protect our planet and looks for more sustainable options for everyday life.

    What to expect at Earth Day Union Square

    The festival promises a mix of exhibits from environmental non-profits, climate campaigns, green living experts and sustainable businesses, a Con Edison Clean Energy Exhibit, interactive workshops, live music performances, kids activities and more!

    Performances are happening starting at 1:00 pm with Hila the Earth, 2:00pm No One’s Ark and 3:00 pm APO HAHA CALYPSE–an improv team. Hila the Earth will perform the final time at 4:00pm.

    Reflecting on Earth Day’s history, it’s evident that the movement has come a long way since its inception in 1970. What began as a grassroots demonstration has evolved into a global phenomenon, with people worldwide coming together to advocate for the planet’s health and resilience. From classroom activities to workplace initiatives, Earth Day serves as a catalyst for raising awareness and inspiring collective action.

    When is the Earth Day Festival?

    The festival will kick off at 12:00 pm on Earth Day, Thursday, April 17, in Union Square Park in NYC, and go on until 6:00 pm.

    The best part of this festival-it’s completely free to enjoy. However, it is suggested that you RSVP online for the event to receive any updates.
