A scenic view of a bridge over a river with forests and mountains in the background captures the enchanting beauty of the Hudson Valley. An overlay shows a route map connecting Hudson, Rhinecliff, Poughkeepsie, Croton-Harmon, Yonkers, and New Rochelle with their respective codes.

Directly north of New York City marks the beginning of the Hudson Valley, a suburban dream when compared to the sheer volume of people and activity the city serves up. The natural beauty and peaceful communities make this a much- desired destination.

Westchester holds Yonkers, the third largest city in the state, so there’s still peeks of the metropolitan vibes of NYC on its waterfront. The quaint village of Croton-on-Hudson contributes with it’s beautiful parks and serene views.

Poughkeepsie offers access to the Walkway Over the Hudson, the world’s longest elevated pedestrian bridge, along with the historic Vanderbilt Mansion, legendary Vassar College (where former First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy attended) and the renowned Culinary Institute of America, where visitors can enjoy gourmet dining.

Rhinecliff offers access to nearby Rhinebeck, a vibrant downtown area full of specialty shops and great eats, like world-famous actor Paul Rudd’s candy shop. Or explore Ferncliff Forest with incredible views for hiking complete with the iconic Fire Tower.

Hudson boasts a vibrant arts scene, boutique shopping and farm-to-table dining, while the nearby Olana State Historic Site, the former home of artist Frederic Church, offers sweeping vistas of the Catskills.

With scenic train rides, historic landmarks and cultural hotspots all within reach of Amtrak stations, the Hudson Valley is an ideal destination for a day trip or a fantastic weekend escape.
