CENTRAL NEW YORK

Located in the heart of the state, Central New York is comprised of the Utica, Rome and Amsterdam Amtrak stations. This region has plenty of fun things to do both in and around these great cities, and if you enjoy craft beverages, this destination surely is the place for you. Utica’s Oneida County is known for its very own Craft Beverage Trail which hosts iconic spots like F.X. Matt/Saranac Brewery in Utica and Brewery Ommegang in Cooperstown. Do you want a side of cheese with that beer? Cheesemakers all across the region have cultivated the Central New York Cheese Trail, which features a variety of freshly-made cheeses. Venture into Cooperstown, home of the National Baseball Hall of Fame, Fenimore Art Museum and Glimmerglass Opera. Travel underground through 6 million years of rock formations at Howe Caverns and experience exciting seasonal events like Howe Scary. Central New York is an Agri-Tourism destination like no other with farms, greenhouses and farmers’ markets just ripe for experiencing. In autumn, you can board the Adirondack Railroad Dome Car for scenic views of the fall foliage. Do you have an appreciation for the arts? The nearly 100-year-old Stanley Theater has live performances and theatrical events year-round, and the Munson Williams Proctor Arts Institute showcases over 300 years of American art.
