What to expect on the Catskill Mountain Railroad Polar Express
Get your golden ticket punched by the conductor, sit back and watch a magical world unfold in front of you. Dancing chefs will come through the car and serve you hot chocolate and cookies while you read along to the classic book by Chris Van Allsburg. Sing-alongs and dancing entertainment will make you feel like you’re in the movie yourself!
Soon you’ll reach the North Pole, Santa and his Elves will hop aboard and greet passengers. Then you’ll be gifted the first gift of Christmas – a silver sleigh bell.
Tickets for the Catskill Mountain Railroad Polar Express
Tickets are available for purchase online on the Catskill Mountain Railroad website. When there, select the date you wish to depart on the Polar Express and buy tickets. Seating is chosen at the point of purchase and cannot be adjusted after the purchase is complete.
Ticket prices differ depending on if the day you wish to travel is a peak or off-peak. Off peak tickets are $46 for adults and $36 for children. Peak tickets are $55 for adults and $45 for children. Ulster County residents can receive a $10.00 off discount per person with proof of residence.
When does the Catskill Mountain Railroad Polar Express run?
The Polar Express happens throughout late November and through the end of December. Rides are available from November 15 – December 29, 2024.
When does the Polar Express depart?
There are a variety of departure times every day the Polar Express is running. On Fridays the train departs at 4:00 pm, 6:00pm and 8:00 pm, on Saturdays there are departures at 1:00 pm, 3:00 pm, 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm. Finally, on Sundays there are trains at 12:00 pm, 2:00 pm, 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm.
All attendees should arrive approximately 45 minutes before their departure as boarding will begin 20 minutes before the train leaves. Trains leave on time without exceptions.
