Head to Jay Street in Schenectady to explore local vendors and support a community.
What is the Schenectady Greenmarket?
The Schenectady Greenmarket is a community of vendors, shoppers and musicians that gather every Sunday from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm throughout the year for more than just a farmers market. This community works to connect farm and city to create a sustainable food system. This diverse marketplace highlights a wide variety of vendors and purveyors in the wider Schenectady area.
First started in 2008, the Schenectady Greenmarket has been a place to buy local produce and artisan goods in a community atmosphere. Over 60 vendors offer up their fresh goods every week from local produce to prepared foods to handmade crafts.
Local community groups use the opportunity to showcase their skills with cooking demonstrations, craft workshops, kids’ activities, or simply share their expertise in their area. Everything is about building the community up, together.
Vendors at the Schenectady Greenmarket range from distilleries, artisans, restaurants, farms and much more. Some featured at this year’s market include Adirondack Pottery Co., Fisher & Fig, Jamtastic, Lovin’ Mama Farm and many more. View the full list of vendors here.
The Schenectady Greenmarket is committed to becoming a staple in the downtown culture with high-quality products you cannot find at just any farmers market.
Additionally, every week vendors featured donate fresh produce, bread and eggs to the City Mission fo Schenectady to bridge the gap and allow all to appreciate and divulge in quality, healthy foods.
Outdoor and Indoor Greenmarket
The outdoor Schenectady Greenmarket takes place from April – November outside of Schenectady City Hall on Jay Street. In the winter months, the Schenectady Greenmarket moves indoors to Proctors Theatre from December 8, 2024, through April 13, 2025.
